The Office of the District and Sessions Judge, Ambala has released an official notification for the recruitment of 49 Clerk posts on an ad-hoc basis. Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline before the last date, 28 May 2026.
The selected candidates will receive a fixed salary of ₹25,500 per month. The appointment will be purely temporary for six months or until regular recruitment is made by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, whichever is earlier.

Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Clerk post must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from a recognized university
- Hindi must be one of the subjects in Matriculation
Age Limit
Applicants must be between 18 to 42 years of age as on 1 January 2026. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be provided according to Haryana Government rules.
Selection Process
The recruitment process includes:
- Written Examination
- Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying Nature)
Written Exam Pattern
The written examination will consist of:
- General Knowledge – 50 Marks
- English Composition – 20 Marks
- Subjective English (Essay, Letter, Precis & Translation) – 30 Marks
Candidates must score at least 33% marks in each subject and 40% overall to qualify.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
The CPT will include:
- Spreadsheet/Excel Test
- English Typing Test (30 WPM)
The CPT is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Its marks will not be counted in the final merit list.
